1. Open the GCash app and work through Profile, Verify Now and Get Started.
2. Go through the reminders, then type the 6-digit code.
3. Enter your birthday and confirm Filipino citizenship.
4. Pick your ID type, scan the card, and finish with the selfie scan.
5. Review your details and tap Submit. Expect an SMS update after 7 days, per GCash.

One valid government ID is enough. GCash’s accepted list covers the National ID, the SSS ID, the UMID, a Driver’s License, the PRC ID, the Passport, the Philippine Postal ID and the HDMF (Pag-IBIG Loyalty Plus) card. Bring the physical card itself: GCash turns away scans and photocopies, with the National ID the one exception.

One more GCash rule worth drilling: no GCash link ever arrives by SMS or e-mail, and GCash never requests your MPIN or OTP. Hold that rule against any casino page, app or “agent” that asks for either.

GCash app limits since 1 October 2026

GCash’s current wallet limits date from 1 October 2026, when the last update took effect. These are the figures from its limits article for the two adult tiers most players hold.

Reach a cap and the services tied to it pause, either until you upgrade or until the 1st of the following month. For an adult on Basic, Full Verification is how the wallet cap climbs to PHP 1,000,000. GCash keeps the option to update or pause any limit when BSP rules or anti-money-laundering mandates call for it.

What the GCash app no longer does for casinos

The casino link broke on 16 August 2025. That day GCash closed its doors to licensed gaming deposits and payouts, pointing to BSP Memorandum M-2025-029.
