Searching for eGames in the Philippines lands you on a regulator’s page, not a product page. PAGCOR’s Electronic Gaming Licensing page says the Electronic Gaming Licensing Department (EGLD) is “the regulatory arm of PAGCOR over the local gaming operations” for a list of named game categories, and that list is what the word eGames points at. Knowing the names lets you read PAGCOR’s lists and spot a site that claims a category it does not hold, which is the first step in any trusted online casino check.

The eGames categories, exactly as PAGCOR prints them

PAGCOR’s page says EGLD “issues GL for each of the following game offerings”. The category names below are copied as they print, and the last column shows the filter name on the PAGCOR Guarantee home page.

Category on the Electronic Gaming Licensing pageWhat the page says it isFilter on PAGCOR Guarantee
Traditional Bingo GamesA game offering for which EGLD issues a Gaming License (GL)TRADITIONAL BINGO GAMES
Electronic Bingo (E-Bingo) GamesA separate game offering with its own GLELECTRONIC BINGO GAMES
Electronic (eCasino) GamesA separate game offering with its own GLELECTRONIC CASINO GAMES
Sports BettingA separate game offering with its own GLSPORTS BETTING
Specialty GamesA separate game offering with its own GLSPECIALTY GAMES
Online Poker GamesA separate game offering with its own GLONLINE POKER GAMES
Numeric GamesA separate game offering with its own GLNUMERIC GAMES
Other suite of games that may be allowed by PAGCOR in the futureA placeholder for games PAGCOR may allow laternone

Land-based casinos sit outside this list: the page excludes “gaming operations of land-based casinos”. PAGCOR’s page does not give a one-line definition for each category, so the table reports what the page does say, which is that each one carries its own licence.

E-casino: PAGCOR’s “eCasino” games

The saved PAGCOR page writes the category as “Electronic (eCasino) Games”, and the accreditation list for gaming affiliates writes “Electronic Casino Games”. An e-casino on those pages is a game offering licensed to a gaming venue, with the online side described this way: “a Service Provider’s electronic gaming platform and its games must be offered at the gaming venue where its remote/online gaming operation shall be an adjunct service for its registered players”.

The same page prints a “List of EGLD-Approved Electronic Games” made of provider names, for example “JILI (I-SLOT GAMING CORPORATION)”, “POCKET GAMES SOFT (PG SOFT)” and “PHILWEB / PRAGMATIC PLAY”. That list approves games and content; it does not approve the site that shows them. Which one you are looking at decides which list you search.

  1. Find the studio on the EGLD-approved electronic games list to learn the game content is approved.
  2. Find the brand and domain on the brand lists to learn the site is registered.
  3. Treat the two as separate questions with separate answers.

Bingo boutique: the wording PAGCOR uses instead

PAGCOR’s saved pages do not print the term “bingo boutique”. They use two names: “Traditional Bingo Games” and “Electronic Bingo (E-Bingo) Games”, and the PAGCOR Guarantee filters carry the same split. If a site calls itself a bingo boutique, look for one of those two categories next to its name on PAGCOR’s list.

What you read on a siteWhat PAGCOR’s saved pages print
bingo boutiqueNo such term; use the two names below
traditional bingoTraditional Bingo Games
electronic bingo or eBingoElectronic Bingo (E-Bingo) Games

How the remote and online licence categories differ

PAGCOR runs a second page for remote work. The Remote Operations and Ancillary Services page belongs to the Remote Operations and Ancillary Services Department (ROASD), and its headings differ from EGLD’s.

PageDepartmentNames it prints
Electronic Gaming LicensingEGLDEight game categories from Traditional Bingo Games to Numeric Games
Remote Operations and Ancillary ServicesROASDRegulatory Framework for Remote Play - Slot Machines, Regulatory Framework for Remote Play Poker, Accreditation Framework for Special Class of BPOs, Accreditation Framework for Data Streaming Providers

The ROASD page also prints requirement lists for “Remote Play Slot Machine License”, “Remote Play Poker License”, “Special Class of BPO” and “Data Streaming Provider”. Those are licences for the remote side of the industry and for services behind it, not categories of game you play.

Using the categories as a player

Match the site to a category before you hand over any detail. A cashier at a licensed venue is bound by the casino rules in the anti money laundering duties page, and every wallet asks for a know your customer step of its own when you upgrade.

  1. Write down the category you expect (for example Electronic (eCasino) Games).
  2. Search the brand and the domain in PAGCOR’s lists.
  3. Open the PAGCOR Guarantee filter for the same category and search again.
  4. Register only when brand, domain and category agree.
